Jewelry Care

Every Sunny Mar Studio piece is lovingly handmade with natural pearls, precious gemstones, and gold-plated metals by founder Marlow White. To preserve the beauty of your jewelry, we recommend mindfully caring for each piece.

General Jewelry Care

  • Avoid exposure to water, perfume, lotions, and oils. These can weaken the thread, gemstones, and accelerate tarnishing.
  • Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping.
  • Store your jewelry in a soft pouch or separate compartments to prevent scratches, tangling, and fading.

Gemstone & Pearl Care

  • Pearls are porous and thrive with gentle treatment. Wipe clean with a soft cloth after wear and avoid exposure to chemicals or heat.
  • Gold-plated jewelry should be kept dry.

Opal Care

Opals are magical and mesmerizing, known for their brilliant play of color. They’re also delicate and require special care to preserve their unique beauty.

  • Keep opals away from water. Absorbing moisture can cause opals to lose their fire and turn yellow or brown.
  • Avoid all liquid chemicals (including cleaning products, perfumes, and skincare) near your opals, as these may alter their color or appearance.
  • Protect opals from extreme temperature changes. Never dry them with heat, and if your piece gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally.
  • Avoid strenuous activity while wearing opals to prevent contact with sweat or accidental impact.
  • Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently clean your opals. Do not soak or scrub.
  • Store opals separately from other jewelry to prevent scratches and keep them in a cool, dry space away from direct sunlight and humidity.

Please note: Due to the enchanting nature of opals, their colors may appear different depending on the lighting. We do our best to capture their true essence in photos, but they may shift beautifully between soft pinks, vibrant greens, refreshing aquas, and citrus tones depending on the light and your environment.
